I would not use words as strong as "clean up" to refer to this. Fox News
has been heavily pushing these bogus polls as actual news, using them to
argue not just that most Americans thought Trump won the debate, but that
the overwhelming majority of those on all the other news channels were
biased and incompetent for thinking that he lost. It is hard to emphasize
enough just how both absurd and dishonest this is. It is on the order of FN
reporting that Justin Bieber is the bastard son of Hillary Clinton and
Bernie Sanders, and citing an article in the National Enquirer as its
source (and that the FN personalities who reported this stood to directly
benefit personally and financially from any extra Bieber sales these lies
led to). *And* - the only response FN makes is to issue a memo reminding
their employees that doing this is not consistent with their policies. This
is about 1000% more outrageous than the exaggerations Brian Williams
engaged in, and NBC condemned him to the public stocks.

Furthermore, FN appears to still be falling back on its excuse that the
people doing this are not really journalists - though the fake poll stories
were the top stories on their website the morning after the debate - are
those just entertainment as well?

I doubt that Roger Ailes would have handled this any differently.
