After last summer's successful game show revivals, ABC has committed to ten
episodes of the fifth incarnation of "The Gong Show," Chuck Barris' mocking
of TV talent shows, for presumably next summer, with Will Arnett aboard as
trophy producer but host or regular panelists yet to be announced (and oh
yes, THR, there was no such thing as Sony Pictures Television in 1976):

For the record, after the original 1976-80 run on NBC and syndication
hosted by Chuckie Baby (and Gary Owens for the first year of syndication),
there was a one-year run in syndication in 1988 hosted by San Francisco
radio guy Don Bleu, a live, home-viewer judged incarnation for GSN in 1998
called "Extreme Gong" and hosted by current "Price is Right" announcer
George Gray and a revival for Comedy Central in 2008 hosted by Dave Atell
and produced by Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions for Sony, the
owner of the format.
