I don't think the article's claim that he developed "Bonanza" is correct - 
it was already on the air for two seasons by the time he got to NBC in 
1961. But one series (not mentioned in the obit) that he was crucial in 
getting on the air was "Get Smart." According to the MT&R panel (included 
on the series DVD box set), it was Tinker who read the script, loved it, 
and brought it to NBC after ABC turned it down.
