Deirdre and Scott Gurney sold majority interest in their namesake company, best known for the (retiring) A&E hit, to the UK-based conglom four years ago, remaining its CEOs... then sunk enough of the proceeds into a separate venture, Snake River, which acquired distribution rights to a new reality show from the original company, funds part of which the Gurneys essentially were paying themselves... meanwhile the couple were also accused of siphoning off north of half-a-mil for personal expenses...
