You may remember that in the theatrical shorts Clarence "Ducky" Nash's Donald voice was just sped up for Huey, Dewey and Louie (giving them the same voice and the ability to split lines amongst all three--something imitated by Famous Studios with Popeye's nephews, all voiced by Jack Mercer). TV animation, even on bigger budgets, still has to have dialogue carry more of the weight of the storytelling, so Russi Taylor came up with a voice for the boys (and Webby) that hinted at the Donald sound but was way more understandable in terms of words (it seems to me that Donald still was able to communicate, even with his vocal shortcomings). I wonder if the new voices are going to try to do that or if they're just going to sound like teenage bros in Disney Channel sitcoms.
