"This Is Us" is back on Tuesdays after "The Voice" following a flirtation
with Thursday nights, with "L&O True Crime: The Mendendez Brothers"
following--First two hours of Thursdays now a bigger attempt at recreating
Must-See TV (albeit with only one multi-cam--the lineup is "Superstore,"
"The Good Place," "Will & Grace" and "Great News." with "Chicago Fire" at
10):

In moving the show back to Tuesdays, the network says that it will run
8-to-10 eps of the serial show in a row, although I would think that if
they're ordering 16 episodes again this season, why not run all 16 weeks in
a row? It seems that network TV can't admit that viewers don't want their
favorite shows broken into two mini-seasons and that they prefer either the
whole series running in order until the end or the Netflix system of
releasing an entire season at once (which obviously network TV can't do on
the air, but can do on demand on their web sites).
