I love that show and every actor on it, but McKean's brilliance outshown them all this season (or is this some weird calendar think where the most recent season is not eligible?). We have all always like McKean, but what he did this year was really remarkable - painful to watch, yet impossible to look away from; insane, yet with a constant hint of plausibility that maybe he was the most sane man in town. He was also a stone cold asshole who in some Escher-like way simultaneously seemed like a good guy, or at least sympathetic. I dont know that there was a performance on television that I enjoyed more.
