“Jerry Before Seinfeld” is an enjoyable hour of Seinfeld material and a peak at
his childhood and early career that just dropped on Netflix. He identifies some
of the jokes as being from his early career. Others, like the sock in the
dryer, need no reference. How much of it is recycled is not clear. It could be
all of it.
I liked Seinfeld so I like the show. But it seems a little low energy, like
they were not putting much effort into it at times, especially when Seinfeld is
recollecting with two other comedians. I think they are comedians. They are not
introduced.
So while I rate this as thumbs up, there is part of me that is unhappy because
it seems more like content for the Netflix machine than something done with a
lot of heart.
