My wife and I watch "Blue Bloods" (don't judge me!), and I'll admit to being slightly confused about Linda's offscreen death, especially since the episode didn't initially specify the amount of time that had passed since the previous season's finale. Leading into that therapy session, there was some talk of Danny 'handing in his papers' (retiring), but that could just as easily have been due to his house being torched at the end of the previous season. Linda's death was a complete curveball.
