Reading between the lines of the review, it seems the crew and on air talent didn't do enough prep work, especially how to cover control room mistakes. And it still doesn't answer the question: why bring back TRL? MTV's target audience is 12-24 so there's no nostalgia factor there. And a 12-24 audience would not be that concerned with Tom Petty.
