You don't know the name, but you know the voice: First heard nationally as
Benton Harbor, "the wonderful white-winged weekend warrior" better known as
CHICK-ENNNN-MANNNNNN! (He's everywhere! He's everywhere!), created by him
for Chicago's WCFL in 1967 and still heard somewhere around the world
today, then as "America's Beloved Tooth Fairy" and then in a long series of
radio commercials that proved that you can be funny and still sell the
product and win over 200 advertising awards over the years--Dick Orkin
suffered a stroke Saturday night and passed on:

The above link had Mr. Orkin creating "The Tooth Fairy" at WCFL, which is
not true--in 1971 he had long left WCFL and had his own production firm.
The series aired in Chicago on WLS during the late Larry Lujack's morning
show, much to Uncle Lar's distaste--but of course, Uncle Lar didn't like
much of anything.
