Actually, the Hudson's been open for quite some time. I saw the (mostly mediocre) revival of "Sunday in the Park with George" there last year, and it just hosted "1984."
It's an odd space. Very roomy, but really lacking any sense of character or history. About the only thing to recommend it is that the bar serves cocktails in actual glasses, rather than plastic. As for the necessity of a Go-Gos musical, let's say I expect it to be as bland and pointless as any in the jukebox genre. --Dave Sikula On Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 8:44:08 AM UTC-8, Bob Jersey wrote: > > > And meanwhile, I learned from several sources that the Hudson Theatre, > also on 44th and the home of the Steve Allen- and Jack Paar-era "Tonight > Show" (and multiple Comedy Central specials, while part of the surrounding > Millennium Hotel), is being reopened by new operator Ambassador Theatre > Group following renovations of its own, in time to host the eventual B'way > run of the Go-Go's musical, *Head Over Heels*, beginning in June with > previews... a Deadline > <http://deadline.com/2018/01/go-gos-book-hudson-theatre-for-head-over-heels-musical-1202273271/> > > (link) piece notes the iconic goil band, with estranged member Kathy > Valentine, feted the announcement with a mini-gig at Bowery Ballroom... > > B > > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TVorNotTV" group.
