I was trying to think of why this seemed a bad idea to me and I found this Guardian article to put it into words. Magnum is a pretty dumb show but Tom Selleck made it fun and watchable. There's no reason to think CBS will cast a lead that will bring what he brought so all that leaves is a pretty dumb show.
