Dude ... if you were too young back in the day, listening to their comedy
albums from the early 70s is an absolutely must listen (“Cheech and Chong”
and “Big Bambu”). My best memory is of Dr Demento playing Sister Mary
Elephant a lot, which I think is from Bambu.

C&C were repetitive and self derivative, so a little of both albums and
films (most of the latter I was not a huge fan of) goes a long way. But 12
year old me had such a blast sleeping over friends houses (my mother would
have killed me had she known) listening to those early album tracks over
and over, along with other gems like Firesign Theatre and Tom Lehrer ( both
also played by the good doctor I believe). We moved to the more standard
stand up albums a little later.
