I’ve experienced a tiny fraction of the level of harassment described in this article, one of several written over the past week as the Almighty Musk hath spoken.

Maybe he just doesn’t get that when he condescends to and insults multiple scientists who are leading experts in their field, there is a severe backlash. I have no problem with criticism of journalism; I do so quite frequently, but when criticism becomes a lightning rod for threats and abuse (see also: Trump), something needs to change. I don’t even fully blame the Wonderful Wizard of Musk, but I do blame the culture in which his stupidity is a springboard for the stupidity of others. And whether he wasn’t aware at the beginning, for him to claim ignorance now would just be silly. He’s gaslighting and doing so with malice at this point. -- Kevin M.
