Agreed. This really was one of the most predictable melt-downs of the Trump
Era (perhaps the only thing more predictable is that Trump himself will
melt down three times a week). I saw two or three stories today about why
ABC was able to move to fast on this - they all implied that they had
anticipated something like this might happen and may even have had several
components of the response pre-positioned. But what I did not read was what
I really suspect must be true - that they had some kind of special
insurance policy out on her for just this kind of thing. I wonder if
somehow pulling the plug quickly helped Disney/ABC demonstrate that the end
of the show was directly caused by Roseanne’s instability, and not other
factors (i.e. political). If not that, then at least having a pretty big
insurance policy may have made it easier for ABC to pull the plug so easily
(though losing the #3 show still has to hurt).
