I'm watching "CBC News Network" which is the cable news network. They did
say "we are going to give an update now to the main network during an
intermission of the hockey game". So the hosts spoke for 5 minutes to
hockey fans.

Since hockey is national broadcast, the provincial stuff is usually carried
on the cable news net.
