Not without controversy - apparently the spotters/counters miscounted the number of dogs eaten by Joey Chestnut (and the runner up) by the tune of about a dozen. The MLE judges got it all sorted out; not sure if that made it to the telecast, tho (my recording ended at the end of the commercial break immediately following the actual eating.)
