WTOL should already be showing the Browns game. They play at 4pm as the second
game of the CBS double-header. The Detroit game starts at 1pm on Fox. What’s
the scheduling conflict for Browns fans?

But to address the question, of course you don’t give a different station
broadcasting rights to the game. Just because Toledo considers itself a Browns
town doesn’t mean the NFL does. Each team’s market is clearly defined before
the season begins, and each station’s network/owners pay a lot of money for the
exclusive regional rights to broadcast the games. You can’t just give another
station the right to broadcast a game, just because their viewers prefer that
game over the one they’re scheduled to see…and you *sure* can’t do it three
days before the game is scheduled.

Subject: [TV orNotTV] Big trouble in Ohio...

The Fox affiliate in Toledo has the show the Lions game, even though there are
more Browns fans in Toledo, because the Lions are closer to that area, and it's
CBS's doubleheader...should the NFL allow WTOL to show the Browns game even
though it's CBS's doubleheader?
