As the man stated, "Hee Haw" was taped at WTVF, the CBS affiliate in
Nashville (whose calls were WLAC when the show started) in a studio not
much bigger than a broom closet, so they had to come up with a way of
taping a national show in close quarters. To give an idea of how
free-wheeling things were, one day when stagehand Cathy Baker showed up for
work wearing coveralls, they decided to put her on camera and she delivered
the show's "That's all!" signoff for the entire run.

By 1981 the show had moved to the much bigger facility at Opryland
Productions next to the Opry House (which was about to be renamed the
Nashville Network), but they continued to tape the show in two-to-three
week spurts in the same manner until they went off the air.
