My brother Allen, between his weekend job at a social club and (he says) being called in tonight for support to the highway crews as a rotten storm approaches our area, was clicking around and found the latest *American Experience* docu, "The Swamp," about the original efforts to develop Florida's Everglades.
I had never read up on the life of Marjory Stoneman Douglas, for whom two schools including the ill-fated one in Parkland were named... Allen had gotten to the part where Douglas, as a Miami *Herald* columnist, jumped on the preservationist side rather early.
