I'm referring to those tiny heart-shaped candies with "Be Mine" and comparable messages on them, whose Massachusetts maker Necco was sold to Ohio-based Spangler Candy (they of Dum Dums and marshmallow-peanuts fame) in September... but not before the original plant was closed, leaving a fraction of the average year's supply for this Valentine's season...
