Back when I got DVDs from Netflix I got a filmed production of Pippin with
William Katt in the title role. At the dramatic climax of the musical
Pippin, his wife, and son were standing center stage singing their song and
by the awkward way they were dressed I guess that they would have been nude
in the original stage production. Since the nudity in Hair isn't central to
the story it can be dispensed with.

When the production of Hair was announced last summer Paul Harris wrote why
it was not an especially good idea. More than the nudity, lyrics intended
to be daring 50 years ago are offensive.
