named Carl R. Bieber Inc. ran short- and long-distance bus trips.

Within the last five or so years, the majority of their buses began 
carrying only the surname, in various styles, leading to some folks from 
outside the area wondering if a certain entertainer was visiting.

The other day, the company announced it is closing down

straits. Several other companies are scrambling to start or increase service
