Radio personality, erstwhile Popeye cartoonist, actor (you’ll spot him in
Spies Like Us), but for Los Angelinos of a certain age, Hatten was the
genial host of KTLA’s Family Film Festival. He was 92.

The first TV I ever had in my bedroom was an old black and white, and the
only channel that came in was channel 5, so I saw a lot of Tom Hatten on
the weekends, along with Pippi Longstocking or whatever public domain movie
he was introducing. During the week he’d host the cartoon carnival where
he’d sketch cartoon characters, in theory teaching us at home how to draw
them, but mine never looked right.
