Rashna Farrukh, a young Muslim working an entry level job, grew tired of the conservative/racist slant of the news portrayed by her employer. When the network showed footage of the terrorist’s live stream, she was out.
I’ll highlight this passage of her op-ed: “This weekend, though, I realised that where we get our start matters too. Over the past few years, I was playing a role — no matter how small — in a network whose tone I knew would help legitimise radical views present in the fringes of our society. Now, I am done being a part of something I do not stand for, and I urge other young journalists to do the same.“ Ms. Farrukh’s feelings towards SkyNews sums up my feelings about FoxNews better than anything I’ve ever written. I wish her well in her career. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-03-19/sky-news-christchurch-mosque-shooting-live-stream/10912844?pfmredir=sm -- Kevin M.
