The first thing I thought of was the night in 1969 or 1970 when Jerry Lewis 
did walk-on appearances on four late night shows the same night, without 
telling them ahead of time what he was doing. 
(That was what inspired Merv Griffin to move his show to LA, so he wouldn't 
have guest line-ups similar to his competition.)
Of course, in those days all four shows - Merv, Johnny, Cavett, and David 
Frost - taped within a few blocks of each other in Manhattan.
I suppose somebody could do something similar today with Fallon, Meyers and 
Colbert, but it wouldn't be the same.
