I suspect he chose to go the whole show on Colbert because of Colbert's improv background. It was painfully unfunny though, like a bad podcast. I tried to make it through the whole show, but I couldn't watch the last segment. The idea of someone else being on the Ed Sullivan Show the night the Beatles appeared has comic potential. It'd be interesting to see who else was one that night. Ron Burgundy as a prop comic could be funny.
