suddenly in the 50s, he'd dropped the "Jr" in his career, full of 
guest-star TV roles lasting well into the 80s on top of film work alongside 
John Wayne (*The War Wagon*), Peter Fonda (*Easy Rider*), and the title 
role in the *Mister Roberts*-inspired *Ensign Pulver*...
