For me personally as a a SoCal native, for years Bryant WAS The Lakers. Back in the ‘80s when I actually followed sports, there were stars on The Lakers, but they were part of a team. By Kobe’s era, teamwork had devolved to “just get the ball to Kobe.” While I am obviously biased towards the ‘80s players, there are maybe a handful of people who could actually take the burden of being a one-man NBA franchise and run with it, and Kobe Bryant was one of them. > > Adam > > On Mon, Jan 27, 2020 at 1:46 PM Joe Hass <[email protected]> wrote: > >> During last night's News At Ten, they aired a package on the death of >> Kobe Bryant.
