I watched the interview and I  can't understand why he couldn't still do
the movie and continue to support Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy.
Ironically, he talks about people not being able to be introspective and
recognize their personal racism and the Elia Kazan movie he turned down was
about a well-to-do man doing some serious introspection, albeit not about
racism. Kirk Douglas got the role.
It was jarring to see him so vibrant. By the mid-1970s he was a muddled
mess. His parents were alcoholic but there's no indication Brando was. He
was a food addict.
