One thing I've learned is that my news bubble was a *lot* more aware of coronavirus/Covid-19 than the rest of the general public. I remember in early-to-mid February knowing that something big was going on in China, and then on February 25 when Nancy Messonnier said during the CDC presser to expect "significant disruption" as the point where I started mentally preparing for this thing happening. And when I finally went quarantine shopping on Sunday, March 8 (which was shortly after the first reports of toilet paper shortages), there was nothing amiss at the grocery store. That period from February 25 to March 11 was, in retrospect, insanely stressful for me because I was in waiting mode for something to happen while the rest of the world seemed absolutely oblivious to this.
