A changing times slap this week: BUZZR, the digital subchannel devoted to game shows, is running the 70s syndicated version of "Concentration" every weekday evening now. Earlier this week, a show they aired from 1976 had a rebus puzzle symbol that the original Hugh Downs/Bob Clayton version and this version probably used many times to no complaints--a Chinese man saying "FOO" with the lettering in the balloon that Chinese restaurant sign lettering). I cannot recall the 1987-91 remake "Classic Concentration" ever using that symbol and if a rebus constructor tried to get away with it today Program Practices would be screaming bloody murder and justifiably so.
