It wasn't that long ago that people were coming from Asia and Europe talking how everybody had 100MB/s service for a cheap monthly fee and US ISPs all pontificated how it was impossible to do in the US. When I went from Comcast to FIOS I went from 3MB/s to 100MB/s for less money than I was paying Comcast.
