She was my first show-business crush, and I never got over her. I saw her final performance in "My Fair Lady" (which, as I think about it, may have been her last time on a stage), and she was everything I wanted her to be. Dry as dust (which was exactly right) and just a joy. Exquisite. In the curtain call, Harry Hadden-Paton and Alan Corduner gave her the last bow and she paid them back by goosing them simultaneously.
