Both Limbaugh and Beck started as wacky radio DJs, and the few dinosaurs still
around from that era will note the proximity of that profession to con artist.
At a minimum, these other DJs would imply, these guys were exaggerating stuff
if not fabricating some things.
My brother's 'rebellious' phase contained in part a fascination with Rush, I
found his TV program easier to swallow and lacking a lot of the hyperbole and
nonsense of his radio program. If we wanted that, I think Morton Downey, Jr.'s
TV show was on the air around the same time.

If someone is able to unearth the installment of Fox’s Late Show hosted by Dr

distinct memory (although it has been 35 years, so it could be false) of
Limbaugh telling Dr Laura that his conservative radio persona was an act to con
listeners. I can’t find video of it on the YouTubes or the Googles. I’m
probably misremembering it, but I can picture it vividly in my mind’s eye.

I Have no comment about his life or death. I can’t imagine any possible
literal meaning of the word bad that would not apply to his TV show.

His syndicated TV show tanked in the ratings but wasn't bad.
