There are still many, many programs available on CW Seed.  Most notably Whose
Line, Schitt's Creek and Pushing Daisies.  It also streams programs 'live,'
though they all look like repeats to me.

There are two other free streamers owned by the OTA networks:  PlutoTV is
owned by ViacomCBS and has CBSN and linear channels of ViacomCBS content, if
not day-after streaming.  Fox Media owns Tubi, a traditional free streamer--due
to existing contracts it can only do day-after streaming of unscripted
properties owned by Fox (notably "The Masked Singer").  Everything else on the
network (including the unscripted shows) is still day-after on Hulu.
Also, older still-running CW titles are still on Netflix and CBS has the right
to put the titles they own like "Walker" on Paramount+.

Having a stand-alone app for the broadcast network puts CBS more or less on par

...but yes, it makes no sense from a marketing standpoint.  Feels like they
could have just done a free tier of P+ and accomplished the same thing.

Why is there now a separate CBS app that looks like the Paramount+ app but
isn’t? And it looks like they moved all the current network content over to the
CBS app. For example, I tried to find the Oprah interview for my mom on
Paramount+ and it wasn’t there. But the CBS app had it on the front page.
So much for corporate synergy.

There’s the discount. The current base subscription price has been $5.99/month
and includes live streaming of your local CBS affiliate. For new P+ subs and
existing AA subs after June, the new basic price will be $4.99/month but no
local CBS station streaming. It wasn’t clear if the CBS live stream will
continue in the $9.99/month tier.

Same.  At $2.50 a month?  That I can (almost) stomach.  (Although I still feel
like, as a cable subscriber paying retransmission fees, CBSAA should have been
free from the start.)
