This reminds me of the ecological problem of monocropping. When a field or
rorchard goes from having a variety of plants to a single planted one it
becomes especially vulnerable to any pest, disease, or soil fungus because
there is no distance between susceptible plants. If the NFL is the economic
fuel that keeps the networks going, any disruption will collapse the whole
system.
