I’d say these are amazing numbers. These cities are not just small media markets (especially compared to Los Angeles and Miami), the are small NBA markets. The Lakers and Heat have large National followings. These two teams have some compelling young stars, but they have been playing in relative obscurity the last couple of years.
I am a huge, life long Laker fan, and would have preferred them in the Finals, but this post season has been of the highest quality, and so far the Finals has been the most enjoyable non-Laker affair I can remember.
