The show still does solid, in-depth reporting - David Begnaud in hospitals
speaking to doctors, nurses and patients on Covid; Anna Werner's
investigative consumer reporting; Jericka Duncan on #MeToo; Vladimir
Duthiers on Haiti; Anthony Mason's pieces that treat musicians with the
respect they deserve - that put it a few steps above its competition. The
lack of glitz helps too. (I tried watching GMA this morning for its storm
coverage, but the video elements were overbearing.)

But Anthony's departure from the anchor desk (though he'll still be doing
his cultural pieces) gives me pause, since his news credentials grounded
the whole presentation. Nate is very personable, but he has a tough road
ahead of him. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, but still.
