Just to be clear, Bochco cocreated LA Law, not Kelley. Kelley eventually took over and tried to turn the law firm into a place where everybody hated each other and fought endlessly. He was praised for diverse casting choices, but he couldn’t write beyond a character’s ethnicity or sexual orientation or handicap, so in the end you got the lesbian you only cared about lesbian issues or the Latino who only cared about Latino issues or a fat woman whose entire character was about being a fat woman. It was like watching an ABC Afterschool Special, only worse.
