The pickup to an even 22 eps for the sitcom's ninth season was made despite the fact that the producers have not decided what to do with Garlin's Murray character after Garlin was fired for alleged Larry David behavior--it matches back four pickups for "Home Economics" and the "Wonder Years" reboot:
