This would be the opportunity for Colbert to make changes that aren't working--or do they really think those cold opens are working? For the most part, the audience response to them is not huge (and I'm assuming they're not sweetening, especially since I think I'm pretty good at telling what's real and what's canned, even if they aren't using Charley Douglass' loops anymore).
