We are currently binging Ted about 2-3 episodes per night. We are currently in season 2. One thing in season 2 that I have been wondering about is Jamie's eyebrow -- which kind of has a nick in it. I didn't catch any verbal clues, probably due to the fast accented dialogue if it was explained.
Anyway, quick google (actually Bing -- shut up) gave me the following article result which explains it. Examples below. The bottom of the article includes a "Source Link" which includes the article without synonyms or substituted phrases. The one that made me figure out the substitution was "Bill Lawrence" being written as "Invoice Lawrence".
