I’ve watched TV shows where the protagonist is clueless but the viewer
knows what’s going on, and I’ve seen shows where the protagonist knows
what’s going on while the viewer is in the dark. This series seems centered
around the principle that neither the characters nor the audience should
understand what’s happening. I suppose the writers think it’s freeing; it
makes me want to throw things at the TV.
