Not to mention making the domestic BBC News and the overseas BBC World News (what we see on cable in the U.S.) one channel (which they are in UK overnight and U.S. evenings, not to mention being simulcast on BBC One--is "Breakfast" still simulcast on News and One?) and move the beloved Radio 4 (which in the U.S. would be considered the equivalent of an NPR news-talk station) to online. Considering that R4's audience is, uh, older, I don't see them wanting to say in the car "Alexa, play the 'Today' programme."
And it should be pointed out that BBC Four is the "cultural" channel and that the much-hated by the chattering classes "yoof" channel BBC Three, which only returned from online earlier this year, would stay on the digital TVs and Freeview boxes in the UK. And it seems to indicate that the older-skewing CBBC audience watches more online than the pre-school Cbeebies audience (and that channel probably serves as a babysitter for a lot of parents). Adam, considering that a show moving from BBC Two to BBC One was once considered the symbol of mass appeal, have any shows other than the difficult game show "Only Connect" moved from Three or Four to Two or even One?
