Overall I’m enjoying this series, at least as much as I enjoyed Rogue One,
which takes place not too far after in the chronology.

Something I like about all the new Star Wars in stark contrast to all the
new Star Trek is the great lengths they have gone to remain faithful to the
look and feel and sound of the original. Trek defends the changes on not
wanting the new shows to feel dated, but Star Wars has proven it doesn’t
have to look dated at all. There is something vintage (even “steampunk”) to
the look of 60s and 70s sci-fi. I’m glad Star Wars celebrates that. I’m
annoyed Trek does not.

Here’s my gripe about the character of the Third Sister.

SPOILER SPACE

In this week’s episode, it is revealed that she was a youngling when Luke
and Leia were born. So she ought to be a couple years older than the young
Princess Leia. Nope… she’s much older. I like the backstory for the
character, and I think the online backlash by the InCel trolls against the
actress is just stupid, but the age thing bugs me.
