No (to answer the topic question), assuming “political” here means
“partisan.” Politics per se of course is a legitimate Jeopardy! subject,
and the category was explicitly related to politics (The House of
Representatives). It would be hard to imagine a category about the US House
in 2022 that did not include answers related to the January 6 Committee and
Liz Cheney.

Rather than partisan politics, this illustrates something else about
contemporary Jeopardy! That I have been suspecting for a while, which is
that there are a higher fraction of answers are related to contemporary,
“ripped from the headlines” issues, which I guess is inevitable the longer
the show is on the air.

One of the contestants on the show yesterday was a sibling of one of my
work colleagues.
