I totally agree with Tom. Trump is simply threatening to sue CNN. He threatens to sue everybody. It’s a manifestation of his bully persona. It’s a non story at this point.
Of course he also actually sues lots of people (and is sued by lots of people). If he actually sues CNN it will be a big story, but for reasons cited here this is highly unlikely, as the truth is a defense against defamation, and he would be handing CNN lawyers the opportunity to get him on the record, under oath.
