I really like Wood, but a) his standup career seems to be taking off, too, and b) his comic persona isn’t right. He’s best used in small doses (as with his traffic reports, that kill every week). His most effective schtick (imo) is being confused by and/or pissed off at something, and I don’t think that works in the anchor chair.
